The distinctive downstairs bar at Cottier's is a popular social haunt for local people as well as serving as a theatre bar over the years when the performance venue has been in full swing.

The bar itself makes an ideal venue for jazz on Sundays with a smattering of DJs through the week. In the winter months the candle lit interior with its well-stoked fire is rich in character.

In the summer months the extensive outside terraces provide a superb leafy setting for food and drink from the bar where meals are served throughout the day. Cottier's is within easy walking distance of popular Byres Road while providing a more relaxed social alternative to the bustle of Ashton Lane or the nightlife of the city centre.
